Castlebar Golf Course

In a magnificent setting on gently rolling countryside successive developments have propelled Castlebar towards a premier course ranking. Eddie Hackett created the first 18 holes course in 1981 before Peter McEvoy gave the course a complete renovation in 2001. McEvoy added attractive water features and his signature bunkering, 40 of them. Needless to say all eighteen greens were built to the highest specification. The construction of a new road forced the club to acquire adjacent land and Jeff Howes was engaged. Howes created 6 new holes and modified 3 more while retaining the character of the existing McEvoy design.
