Tulfarris Golf Course
Blessington, County Wicklow

Tulfarris is part of the Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort. The complex is based in the grounds of the old Tulfarris Castle and the manor house, built in 1760 is now part of the resort. The course itself is an exciting and imaginative design by Patrick Merrigan. It is built on three peninsulas that jut into the Blessington Lakes in northwest County Wicklow. Water is therefore the dominant feature although there are several large copses of trees and the greens are well bunkered. Perhaps most noticeable on this golf course is the attention to detail. The greens, bunkers, contouring, stonework and even the environmentally sensitive attention to the surrounding wetlands are all finished to the highest standard.
Blessington is 25 miles southwest of Dublin on the eastern side of the Wicklow Mountains near the border with County Kildare. The main N81 route continues southwards through Rathsallagh and into Tullow (County Carlow) where Mount Wolseley can be found.
